The story of The Hunting Trip is as flollows: Yaoqi, a fine young worrior, on the huntiong trip one autumn day is led by the hare he has wounded to the spot where he comes across Sanniang, his mother who, he was told, died long ago. Sianniang tells his her sad life story. He promises her to help find her long lost husband and son, before he returns home to find out more from his father. All's well in the end, the family of three is happily reunited.
