The Kunqu Workshop is a
subdivision of the Kunqu Society. Its main objectives are preserving
and studying the Kunqu performing arts. Established in 1991, the
Kunqu Workshop hires professional Kunqu artists and musicians to
teach students Kunqu singing, movement, acting, flute, percussion and
stage make-up.
Classes are given twice a month, on the first and the third
Saturday, from 10:30am to 5:00pm, at St. George's Church
(135-32 38th Avenue, Flushing, NY 11354; 4 blocks north of the #7
Main Street subway station.).
Since 1992, the Workshop has been
supported in part by the Special Arts Services of the New York State Council
on the Arts.
Students
will participate in the Mid-Year Concert and the Annual Performance.
